We have used frozen or fresh then frozen them for years. We have a good butcher who will do say 4 for not much more than frozen so we are lucky.
Often use the microwave to defrost or help them along. As long as they are well cooked and they are"sound" to start with no problems to date.
Yes they may come from further a field, not always. Does it matter unless you are pasionate about food miles especially EU??
Ensure you get ones that do not have added water in the ingredients - I think they all have a bit as part of the processing. I know Al for instance have two types (100% 800g an 85%>/1100g for same price)
I will leave happiness quotas up to you...
Taste if you are putting them in casseroles, curries etc little difference.
Grilled little difference, fried can sometimes give off water but I get this with fresh too, just spoon it off.
Roast they will dry out unless combined with a stuffing/filling of some sort or wrap them in say bacon or foil with some stock veg.
Why not take it in stages, freeze some fresh ones then move on.
Tip if you are frezzing them - lie them as flat as posible in bags, they take up less space than when lumpy."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I use the frozen ones for curries, stir fry's etc, just defrost them in the morning and ready to cook at tea time, a bit watery but easy washed under the cold tap and patted dry with a kitchen towel.
Grilled or roast, I buy fresh and either use on the day or freeze, home frozen fresh ones are less watery.
I use the pre frozen mainly for economy. Got to make the pennies stretch these days. I would love to use corn fed free range but that's up there on the wish list with a month in Bermuda.:)0 -
Thanks for the replies.
May give them a miss and save as an idea if pennies get very bad!
