Strange occurance(s) on credit file!

Hi guys,
Ive recieved my credit file from Equifax this morning, and besides a default 2 years ago from a student bank account, there is no horrible suprises on there (payments up to date, i only have 3 credit accounts (mobile phone, 1 store cards, small mortgage)
So everything is ok, except this....
2 entries under associate information
Now, when i moved into this house (which i havea 25% equity share in) my fiancee had a bad credit history due to a previous relationship break up and all the accounts were in her name.
Therefor EVERYTHING to do with the house, was taken in my name, and my name alone.
The 2 entries under the associate information are:
1 for a small secured loan from last year which i settled within a few months of taking it out (wont explain)
1 for a Future Mortgages - Brights Finance
both the entries have different names next to them, one is my wifes maiden name and one is her maiden name with MRS prefix.......
Now the bemusing thing is, niether of them were joint accounts, they were not even joint applications, they were both in my name alone.
I seem to get turned down for credit and im sure its because of her (being truthfully blunt, appauling credit history) being associated to my name.
We have a joint Bank account with first direct which is the weird thing, because that shows up as Sole in my name! and the Associate Information has nothing regarding this on there.
What can i do? file for a notice of dissaccociation? We know her credit history is terrible, hence me getting everything in my name!
I somehow feel there has been a mega balls up and i am paying the price for it.... starting to make me a tad angry
Any help would realllllyyy be appreciated!
Cheers!

To file a notice of disassociation you must have no financial links whatsoever. So you must have no joint bank accounts, joint loans or joint mortgages.
I understood some letting agents will do a joint credit check on tenants. Could it be from this?Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
No, were not tenants so it wouldnt have been that, besides, none of the associated entries were entered by any letting agents (ive never dealth with any).
If we change the joint account to be just mine (will banks let you do this?) then i have absoultly no financial tie to my wife at all, no more joint account + nothing else is joint in name, then i should be able to file for a dissassociation notice?
Thanks for the reply!0 -
Yes as far as I'm aware if you have no joint financial accounts/debts etc then you can file a notice of disassociation - I downloaded one for OH from either Experian or Equifax can't remember which but think they both have them online on their website.
Not sure if you need to file one with both of them as they are both the main credit search companies.
The other one is when you apply for credit there is usually a tick box to say whether they can search others in your house/your spouse or something like that and if you tick it and say yes then it confirms that you are financially linked and places that association on your credit file - watch out for that one!!
Edit: if you check out the 30 day free trial application on Experian it shows that if you tick to search others then it creates a link for you.

We'll Experian seem to be much slower at producing my credit file!
Equifax sent me mine this morning and i applied for it through them after experian!
I will, of course check experian as well!
Your last sentance interests me though, maybe i have been caught out that way
Damn tick boxes
