Advice Needed! Royal Mail

I got a red your were out royal mail card , anways cut a long story short went to sorting office and they have ' lost' my item!

The only thing i was waiting to be delivered was my vera wang perfume as that said it will be sent after 10th may. The calling card just said packet and too large to fit through letterbox not recorded which is how that would be sent as said in the wem. I have emailed coty to ask them if they have sent perfume and explained whats happend. But if its not them and its anothe prize i didnt know about where do i go from there. Has this ever happened to anyone before with the royal mail? im soo angry with them!! :mad:

The chances are it will be the perfume that you are waiting for. A similar thing happened to me, i ordered some make up and it did not arrive - the company refunded my money. If it has not been delivered to you surely the perfume company should send you some more and then it would be up to them to sort out a claim from Royal Mail? Hope it get sorted out.

Ah no! Well annoying, sorry no advice other than leave it till monday and go back again, may be that its been left on a van in error, i've seen the postal vans when parcels are stacked up on dashboard etc so it may be a human error and they'll notice it soon. (hopefully!) x

I makes me soo angry think lots of stealing goes on within the royal mail!! Probably is perfume but then again that email said it would be recordered and this item wasnt. Hope i get it sorted this was a fab win as love this perfume but so expensive. Thanks for ur reply.

Yes - I had 2 parcels turn up which had been opened and then sealed up with royal mail tape - then had a parcel turn up which had obv been opened and had nothing in it at all.

Then a few weeks ago - I got red carded and told over the course of a week when I kept going in it had been misplaced, lost, etc.. then a cleaner found opened and stuffed somewhere the big padded envelope with my name and address on and 2 empty pandora jewellery boxes. The post office reported to police but nothing on cctv and because it's a win - I don't have any proof of a loss - so can't take it any further - cannot trace the win at all and was not expecting anything from pandora - have checked and wasn't direct with them.

Tried calling post office cust services and just get fobbed of loads and told to come back to them when I know exactly what was in the parcel and have evidence.

sorry to hear that too,i wonder sometimes how many wins ,even little ones or a congratulation letter that we never know may be lost or never arrive,so sad with them,even samples sometimes are empty

I'm so sorry to hear about your 'lost' parcel, how awful.

I have to say that last year I had to chase a few prizes which just didn't arrive but had been sent. It makes me wonder how many prizes I wasn't expecting have been lost too. I also have to say Royal Mail have some nerve with the state some items arrive in, some of which I would be ashamed to hand to the customer personally. Luckily our delivery driver is fab but we never have the same postie and that's when post/smaller parcels have gone walkies...

this has happened to me several times. Because you are the recipient (and not the sender) the royal mail say you cant claim any compensation. Hopefully coty will send you out a replacement.
Personally i can't wait for RM to be privatised, they are a shambles.

Thanks for lovely replies everyone! Why are some people so awful what gives them the right to take other peoples stuff makes me sad , so awful about the pandora braclets Treacle theiving scum bags! I know i wondered how many wins have just never turned up , it makes you think wants the point putting time and effort into comping then this happening! large vino for me now he he!! I just dont understand how it can get lost on a journey 2 mins by car. xx

As far as i know i've never had something lost through Royal Mail. lol, but then you can never be sure can you? My postie always muddles the post up, and we end up with post for people that live down a nearby street but with the same house number. We're kind enough to drop the letters through their doors. But you never know if others will be so kind to do the same...

The most i've had go "missing" is my blackberry torch that T-Mobile sent me via HDNL.

I have worked for Royal Mail as a Driver for 18 years and proud of what i do, I am so sorry to hear of your plight, I can assure you that myself and my workmates have 100% respect for your mail at all times. when I started working for Royal Mail I had a 2 week induction course, security checks etc... but today it seems anything goes. we dont deserve the "ROYAL" bit anymore thats how bad it is.
