Full and Final Settlement - lease agreement

This is regarding a car lease agreement, not a loan, but wasn't sure where else to post it.
I sent a cheque "in full and final settlement" for a car lease, and the lease company cashed it. Can they now demand the extra they claim is due?
We dispute the extra amount - they say it's for damage repairs, but in our opinion the vehicle was in perfect condition with only nominal fair wear and tear.
