im looking for a temp job to keep me going over the next few months... i usually work freelance but work is very slow at the moment and im starting to love the idea of some regular income!
im interested in doing part time (or full time for the next month or two) in any kind of filing or warehouse or data entry type job... something simple and not serving the public!
can anyone point me in the right direction for the best temp agencies to approach in London? im in south london but am happy to travel for the right job... if anyone wants to talk to me about a suitable vacancy they know about that would be great too!
thanks all...

I temp for Hays Office Support and do similar stuff, but in the Midlands. They have branches all over the place and seem to specialise in these more general positions. Part-time is harder to get, but a couple of times I have taken a full time position which is short-term, and then the clients have asked me to stay on. I've then been able to agree part-time hours with them because they are happy with my work and would rather accomodate that than start afresh with a new temp.
The pay isnt brilliant - I'm currently getting £6.60 p/h for filing and data input, but I like the flexibility of temping as I can take every school holiday off.0 -
that kind of things sounds great for me...
ive found my local hays office and emailed them to enquire... we'll see what happens!
thanks!

Reed have a pretty good reputation too (think they're national as well). The registration process is a pain with all agencies. They need to see your passport and proof of NI as they get lots of people trying to work without work-permits, proper residency etc.
They'll also want a couple of references which they usually follow up by phone. One of mine was a friend who just played down the friendship bit and bigged-up the community stuff we'd been involved with together, so it seemed like a proper character reference!
Other than that, just give them a call every week or so, to keep your details fresh in their minds, and hopefully something decent will turn up. Good luck!0
