Making money but in a secure way

Having noticed yet another trend recently of people being ripped off while trying to make some money (ie home work, renting etc) i think it would be useful for people to have some links to sites offering legal advice in these areas (as i havent really seen any in mse)
Unfortunately i then realised i have absolutely no knowledge of this area (and tbh would love to learn some of it) so if anyone has any sites for uk law (easily understandable - for dummies type sites) that people can refer too before they do something to make sure they are ok, then that would prob save loads of hassle

the first port of call for employment advice is
