Well the oldest man in Britain, who's 110 puts his long life down to cigarettes, whiskey and wild women!!

Maybe find out what he swears by and get him some of that?
Marrying my mum in 2004 seems to have given him a new lease of life:D

He is half blind (macular degeneration) and his only daughter is the daughter from hell, so family photos aren't terribly appropriate! Thank you for your suggestions tho'

oooo and have you seen those socks that you can heat in the microwave - who wouldn't want a pair of those!
  • All my nan wanted was a warm dressing gown and some slippers to keep her warm but those socks, gloves and neck hugger things that you pit in the licro wave are a good idea too as the above post said .

  • If he suffers from ARM why not look at the RNIB website for things for people with low vision. they have things kike talking watches and large dial kitchen timers. That may help him keep him independent a bit longer.

  • Does he enjoy a tipple at all?

How about a hip flask? If you wanted to make it personal you could get it engraved?
  • My grandad is 93 in two weeks, so I have Christmas and birthday to sort out. We've bought him a flock of chickens from Oxfam for his birthday, and a chicken coop for Christmas. He lives in a home, and has pretty much everything he needs, so we've decided to donate the money to charity instead.
