Joint mortgage between three people?

Options
Myself and two of my friends are looking to buy a house in Nottingham and I have a few questions regarding what the best options are going to be for getting the money to buy a house.

Now all three of us are recent graduates and earn around £15000 on average, and we are probably looking to buy a house around £100,000 to £115,000. We also have each put aside £3000 each for a deposit (we may be able to stump up £4000 each at a push). I should also add that none of us have any financial commitments (other than Student Loan), and no previous black marks on our credit.

My first question is whether a) you can get a mortgage between three people, and b) if we can would our combined income be enough to get a mortgage for £100,000?
My second question is is a mortage the best way to go for this? Would we be better off looking at individually getting financed for around £32000 each?

Thanks for your help in advance.
