for getting Free P&G samples as it costs them money, but would never buy from them as they test on animals.0

I found this site. Just something for you to think about before endorsing P&G products and their research methods.

"Why Boycott P&G?
P&G admit that guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, rats and mice are among the animals used in their ‘product safety research’, as well as cats and dogs in pet food experiments. Uncaged’s investigations continue to reveal disturbing examples of P&G’s ongoing involvement in painful and lethal animal tests.
Procter & Gamble exist for one reason, and one reason only - to make as much money as possible. P&G test on animals because of their desire to get new chemical ingredients on to the market. This allows them to claim that their new hair dye, skin cream or washing powder etc. is ‘new, improved’, in the hope of increasing sales. But with many companies producing similar consumer products without carrying out animal tests, it shows that P&G’s cruelty is motivated by greed.
Obviously, P&G realise that their behaviour appals most people. Sadly, instead of reforming, P&G invest enormous amounts in PR and spin that aims to give a rosy impression of their testing practices. P&G have even been lobbying governments to try to block bans on animal testing for cosmetics that have public support. Now, Uncaged’s investigations have uncovered P&G’s outrageous plans to carry out massive animal testing programmes for new cosmetics and household product ingredients.
Money is the only language P&G understand. Ultimately, by boycotting P&G, you hold the key to saving the many thousands of animals who suffer and die every year in cruel and unnecessary tests conducted by this company."

I've been avoiding P+G too, thanks for the list, really helpful!
Does amuse me how all these different branded products are all made by the same people.. giving people the illusion of choice when its probably all exactly the same.. just shows how brand led people are.0 -
many companies still test on animals but from what I have read P&G are working with U.S. Humane Society to end testing on animals. I agree that testing on animals shouldnt happen but if you avoid P&G and use another company how are you sure that they dont test.

They also look to have a good policy on social responsibility and have a product that provides clean water to third world countries.

I somehow doubt that Proctor and Gamble would put something on their own website along the lines of 'yes we love torturing small fluffy animals'. Generally i prefer to use a independant/nonbiased judgement rather than the company's own.
Personally i think testing shampoo, bath products and cleaning products on animals is disgusting and unecessary. There is a simple alternative: use the basic products that we know are skin friendly, instead of needing to constantly bring in new chemicals to add to creams that promise miracles. 'New', 'Super Improved' and whatever that ridiculous cream was that acts as a 'filler for lines and wrinkles'... yesss  . It's all just a marketing ploy to make you spend ridiculous amounts of money on nothing.
"...if you avoid P&G and use another company how are you sure that they dont test."
... research all the companies you buy from, and not just the one? Avoiding one company is better than none, surely.0 -
Please money savers avoid P&G they carried tests so bad they your make your worse horror film would appear like "Ballamorry"
Their are loads of ethical affordable cosmetic and hair dye companies."Don't panic just chill out and smile"

I wouldnt call the other website quoted as a non biased judgement (how do we know we cant trust them or anyone) but also would prefer to gain other independant feedback and a company that works with Humane Society must be working in the right direction. From what you can also see the company does help the 3rd world with drinking water which I think is a good thing. Everyone though has the right to their own opinion.0
