I found out I had a PPI from Northern Rock from 1996 - 2003; which is being investigated by NR even though they could not locate it originally; Do I still qualify for being mis sold it and potentially how much could we receive; 80 Months at £24.50

Hi
I bought a plasma TV when they were really expensive back in 2004 costing £2000. I opted for interest free credit for 12 months and paid it off at the end of the 12 months in full.
When I signed the agreement I was sold PPI worth £800 over 48 months, so the total credit was £2800, but the PPI would only have covered me for 12 months max, i.e. a classic mis-selling criteria.
Even though I paid the TV off at the very end of the interest free period and just before I incurred interest and PPI charges, am I eligible for compensation as it appears I was mis-sold the PPI as it was not fit for purpose.
Thanks

Hi, I have had 6 loans with Barclays over the last 15 years in which every loan paid off the previous loan.
I have finished paying the last loan off in 2011 and put in a ppi claim. I had the paperwork for the last loan which didnt have ppi on but explained this on my claim.
I have done a SAR and no loan agreements appeared except the one i have !
I have statements showing the amounts of loans, and loan account but Barclays will not entertain anything.
They have now allocated my old bank account (now closed) to someone else and have now not been able to find some info on my loans, of which they were able to see some months earlier.
To me they know this will cost them £000's so are shying away from paying whats due.
ANy help would be appreciated.:)0 -

Hi,
can anyone tell me ... I have an overdraft, and have had for many years...what the bank call 'interest' that I pay every month, for using the overdraft facility, is it likely to include any proportion of payment protection insurance?0 -
I employed a company to help me clear my debts. I paid them a management fee and they contacted the people I owed money to and made arrangements for me to pay arrears.
They charged me for payment protection insurance, does anyone know why? I didn't have a loan or any credit with them.
They are saying I said yes when they asked me if I wanted payment protection, to be honest I would of said yes to anything I was so desperate for help & are refusing to refund the PPI.
Any one help?0 -
Hi everybody
I'm trying to claim PPI back (through a reputable company!) from a loan I had with Abbey back in the late 1990s. Although I don't have a lot of paperwork, I do have some correspondence from Abbey about settling the loan. This has the agreement number and my address at the time. It also has the Payment protection Premium. Santander (I assume, as they bought out Abbey) are claiming that they can find no record of the agreement number. Has anybody experienced this before? Are they just stalling?

Hi - I took out a loan with a company called The Associates Plc in October 2002. This company was taken over by Citi Bank in December 2002. I sent a copy of the loan agreement claiming £5,500 PPI, copies of bank statements showing the direct debits and a copy of a receipt for the first installment (cash) on my loan agreement number. I have this week received a letter from citibank stating they cannot trace my customer number and have asked for additional information. My name and address is exactly the same as 2002. I have never received any other number except for that on the loan agreement. I spoke to the insurer also and they did have me on the computer and issued me with a TA number relating to Citibank. I contacted my bank for dd details and they informed me they no longer have details re this dd?? What should I do? Will they close my complaint if I cannot provide any further info? I look forward to hearing your comments. Thank0
