Vast Difference in Credit Scores

Hi,

I am looking for a 5K Loan and done a series of credit scores.

Equifax and Callcredit give me a Score within the "Poor Credit" Rating

However, Experian have said I have "Excellent" Rating

Which credit provider is most reliable and is there any lenders that will use Experian only?

Thanks

Lenders do not use the scores, they have their own criteria. You are wasting your money.

Basically, I had a couple of late payments from about 3 years ago

However, since then my history has been excellent

What accounts/ issues show on the experian file that do not show on the others? Are you showing as being on the electoral roll on all 3 reports?

Generaly experian is the most used credit reference agency, followed by equifax.

Hi, all the account info is the same. However it looks like Experian go by your past 24 months history rather than 6 year

As said before, the lenders do not even see the score.

Thanks but please could you expand on your response - I want to apply for a loan with barclays.

I phoned them up, they said the running of my accounts was excellent.

I have just paid off a 5K 3 year loan with them and they confirmed they use experian as the credit reference.

However they said there is no loan available today :S

They just go on the raw data in the cerdit report plus other factors such as salary, time in employment, dependents etc etc. The score that experian give you is just a way of taking six quid from you.

The CRA's should really get shafted for taking £6 off people, just for making up a number.
