Just followed Martin's advice to switch energy suppliers - checked that the cashback message was on the site. Result ? ' We are
unable to sign you up online you need to telephone' .....which means of course I wouldn't get the cashback. Is this a con ?
Has anyone else had this result ?

You might get a better response for this in the Utilities Board, just a thought.
You might also want to include a few more details so the people on these boards might better help you. As there are a number of different cashback sites offering different deals for different suppliers. To which deal is it you are referring too?
Hope you can find a solution to you problem soon.0 -
I went through simply switch and I had no issue (despite being IGT).
So you need to tell us which site it is you had an issue with.
Why don't you simply choose another site?0 -
Try ignoring them a few days and let them contact you by email or
Is the cashback much more there than the next best? You could ring and cancel then apply for 2nd choice.
Good luck0 -
I took out dual fuel with Scottish Power through Quidco in July, which was supposed to be worth £101. The original link didn't work, but I was able to navigate to the correct page and take out the fixed rate offer.
The link was recorded, but Scottish Power rejected the claim ... I am still in the process of appealing this even though Scottish Power have already accepted it as a valid claim. The Quidco support team have been great and have put alot of effort into chasing this for me ... but I have serious doubts about whether Scottish Power ever had any intentions of paying out.
So heed the warnings on MSE ... its not your money until its in your pocket0 -
Are you trying to get a new deal with the same company that you were previously with?
I am sure it doesn't work for this as I spent hours yesterday on all the sites.
Was with BG on a Click 6, but got an email to say this is about to finish and will be put back onto the normal tariff from 1st June.
Eventually spoke to someone at BG who said you have to go direct, cashback sites won't work for the same company.
Told me I was eligible for their Essentials Package, but really not sure if this will be any cheaper as can't get the costs up online.0 -
I find all the companies tarriffs so confusing and the energy companies don't help - they should offer the same deals whether or not you are an existing customer.
Scottish power just put up my DD by 20% without bothering to tell me but I'm not singling them out, I've found them all to be rubbish over the years....!!
Thinking about solar power next - anyone have this?Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
