I want a B. That's all I want, a flaming B.
And the right job to be advertised AFTER I get it.
It can't be that hard, can it?
My local college in Wolves do the Higher Mathematics course, but it's in the campus away from the city centre.
So that's finish work early (not telling Boss Lady why, of course), schlep to the bus stop, over an hour on the bus to Wolves Bus Station, find the next bus stop, take another bus out to the 'burbs and a longish trot up the hill to the campus.
And home again, home again jiggety jig. Hopefully before 11pm.
Walsall College was only a 15 minute walk away from work - that was the beauty of it.
Next year, there's the whole build up to the BIG exams for work again - the reason why it was decided I could only take the Foundation course this year - I was missing too many lessons because of work and revision. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I've just logged on to the Edexel website and guess what?
I've passed. I was awarded a GCSE Grade C Mathematics.
So what? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Well done! Congrats.Data protection is there for you, not for companies to hide behind0

So, today I went up to the 'out of town' campus of Wolverhampton College to enrol on the Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics course.
The campus is as disorganised, tatty and rundown as ever.
As I sat and waited with my raffle ticket and my forms, the four people sitting at the computers noted that the systems had crashed.
Not only could they not pull up any course details, they couldn't enrol us either.
But they could still take payments - so we could pay for our courses and have nothing to show for it as we walked away today.
When I show up on Tuesday evening, I'll have to get there really, really early so that I, along with everyone else who shows up on Tuesday evening, can be enrolled and have our photos taken for our college IDs.
Terrific...... Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

I got my degree and masters degree without GCSE English. I'm a native British citizen, and took an IELTS English exam to meet the university's GCSE English equivalent.0 -
Hi
I home educate my son and when he comes to doing his GCSE math he will be doing it as a private candidate.
It will cost between £70 and £80 to take the exam.
Could you do it that way if you already know the math and its only the exam you need to arrange?Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -

Not sure about that but for IELTS it's £125 to take the exam. You don't need to study but you can buy some materials to prepare for the exam.0 -

I don't know the syllabus and need the discipline of lessons.
I need help with some stuff too - manipulation of equations, for a start. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I don't have gcse myself but purchased a good online math course for my 11 year old which was not too bad but I know what you mean about disipline. I have an email each week saying when he logged on and for how long just so I can check he is actually doing it
We will be doing edexcel gcse when the time comes and they have the syllabus and past papers free on their website.
The price I quoted are what other home edders are paying which is the exam fee of £38 and an admin fee.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0
