  • Hiya - My cousin works for McCain and he knows for sure that it's the same product so they still fry and taste the same. Don't worry and carry on enjoying them!

I got these 'Home chips' from Asda the other day, and deep fried them.. they taste exactly the same as the 'old Homefries' :)

Maybe they changed the packaging to sound more healthy?

  • I have stopped buying McCains homefries because I found that they leave a sticky residue on the oven tray that will not budge no matter how I clean it. Has anyone else found this?

Personally I think they are the best oven chips you can buy and worth paying that bit more for. As far as a sticky residue on the tray goes, I always line my tray with foil and then chuck it away - saves having to wash the tray up. Anything to make life easier! I did once buy one of those trays with holes in for cooking oven chips and pizzas (supposed to make them crisper) but I never found any difference so stopped using it.

Much healthier for you though, and the extra thick ones are fab.
