Cheap Baking & Breadmaking

I Visiited the Real Food Festival in Earls Court on Sunday, visited the Doves Farm stand but they didn't have the flour I wanted. The guy on the stall told me that a few of their flours are on offer at Somerfields at the moment.

Somerfields is not on my doorstep but visited this morning. The offer was buy 2 x 1kgs bags of limited ranges and save £1.00. They only have Organic Malted Bread Flour £1.49, Organic Barleycorn Bread Flour £1.45. (I bought a stock of each of these, which made my journey worth while).

They also had White Spelt Flour, Buckwheat Flour and Kamut Flour (suitable for bread and pasta, so I was told at the Food Festival).

On my way back, I called into Sainsbury's where I picked up 2 X 1kg bags of Allinsons Wholemeal SR Flour for £2.00. They had the Doves Farm Wholemeal SR for 99p per bag, but it was out of stock.

Hope this is of help to more of you die hard bakers and bread makers.

That is a good deal, although not as cheap as Lidl's, which I find is very good. Currently 65p for 1.5 kgs.

Fogot to mention in my first post that the Somerfields offer is on until 24th May. Didn't notice when the Sainsbury's one finishes.
