Hi,
I noticed a previous thread in which Premium Rate Numbers were being discussed. First of all this isn't an advertisement, I will not leave any details regarding the company I work for etc. However, I do work in this sector.
I think there is a general misconception that premium rate or uk non geographic numbers are a dying breed of services, and people generally believe they are solely used for chat lines, tv competitions etc.
Clearly, these services are given the most exposure, particularly with voting on X factor, Strictly Come Dancing etc, however there are many regular business uses for these too.
Over the last few years in particular the telecoms and mobile market has opened up with new services, these include International and Mobile calling cards. Companies like ours provide the premium short codes for top ups, UK Mobile ranges for callthrough products and UK 0871 / 0845 numbers for Call centre and IVR solutions to name a couple of examples.
Clearly Premium and moneyback phone services are not for everyone but there are more and more uses for some of these services and they can be tailored to a specific requirement.
Regards
