Not getting paid for some work

This sounds like a scam to me too - similar to the one where you make pairs of earrings that are always rejected and no payment is ever made. I looked into this years ago and the Trading Standards Dept confirmed my suspicions. I think that you can be quite sure that this company is using your statements and charging the clients accordingly. I imagine that if they get two or three statements from everyone looking for a bit of extra cash and never paying out any money they will be doing very nicely thank you!!!
You could try checking with Trading Standards - you don't need to tell them that you have already done some work - and see if they have info on this company. Don't mean to be negative but I think your chances of getting payment are remote. You may have to put it down to experience.0 -
Diamondgirl wrote:I wrote my post requesting help with getting paid, not to enter into a discussion about the ehtics of this work. I could have simply said I was writing statements online for a company and not offered any details!!!
Hi DG, I don't think anyone is having a go at you personally for the ethical issues involved here - but if the company you supplied the work to is offering this service (and if we're honest with ourselves, it is a bit of a cheat, isn't it?) then I can't see them being terribly ethical in terms of their attitude to paying you your cash.
It's a bitter pill I know, but you might have to put this one down to experience.0 -
Had telephone conversation with MD, still refusing to pay even for one of the statements. Said he didnt realise I had any other work outstanding when contacted me about first statement.
Contacted one of the applicants and their statement was delivered to them this morning so either they were lying yesterday about getting someone else or it was written and checked by them very quickly!! or they used mine after correcting any errors!!!
Anyway have sent invoice and will see what happens. Doubt I'll get anything but at least Ive tried!Orignal debt £31k 2005; reduced to just under £27k Sept 2008 New debt: Capital One Card £1000; mortgage arrears £1,252
