If the new system fails to function, the only fall-back we have is quite literally log-cards. That's the trouble with the company I work at, being FDA compliant they have to be able to trace every part in every machine they sell and keep that info for as long as the machines are in use.
Next time you have a blood-test or urine test, chances are, the machine carrying-out the test will come from the factory I work in.
