AT LAST - I haven't been able to get on MSE since Thursday afternoon   If I clicked from my favourites link I got a blank screen - none of my bookmark pages for MSE worked. So I kept trying to get in by typing the website address and would get the green header with Martin's pic and Money Saving Expert and then the first two tabs below "Credit Cards" & "Reclaiming" then blank below that. Late on Wednesday night I think it was I got through to geet the Essential Maintenance message so knew that MSE were having problems - lets hope it's all OK now as it seems like forever that I was able to get on here :(

Anyway, Mam was bad again, the same delusionary/hallucinations/fever/etc but seemed to get better as yesterday passed and was bright though quiet last night. she had a day and a half without food, then a day of eating then missed a couple of meals again, but eating like a horse again - she had a 3-course dinner last night of soup, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and then ice cream with Rol0 dessert. We don't know where she puts it as she is getting even smaller, but eating makes her happy. One of our favourite carers has been working in the other part of the home for a week and could see straight away yesterday that she was ill, even though we thought she looked much better yesterday - she could really see the difference in her. So, it seems that she has recovered from what they believe was a virus, but is weaker now :(:(

My brother is down there now with her and said she is sitting up smiling :D

SORRY guys that I didn't keep in touch by text/phone/email but, when MSE failed, I seemed to go into withdrawal mode and was concentrating on Mam so much, I just switched off really. And the money situation was getting worse and worse  The first thing I do when things aren't going well is withdraw :o but I'm feeling better now, I hope

GOOD NEWS is that a payment came through from Working Tax Credit on Thursday but we have no paperwork to say how much the weekly payment will be so will have to chase that up on Monday. I assumed that they would make an initial payment of the backdated money since 7th March and then pay the weekly sum from then on, but I don't think they have from the amount of the payment we received - if that was the amount due from 7th March to now, then we are not getting much a week

Anyway, I hope everyone is OK and has enjoyed the good weather we had the last couple fo days :j though it is dull and damp today

sorry to hear about Mam :( 3Dogs :(

but pleased she is sitting up in bed today smiling.

Huni, it is understandable that you would go into withdrawal mode. I think those of us who suffer from depression, know EXACTLY how you feel and why you are doing what you are doing. If I had any money in my account, I would probably be spending right now! But that is why I am depressed, reached the end of the month with no money left.

I think tax credits is getting less and less for everybody. I don't understand though how they say that people earning over £40,000 can still qualify for help with child tax credit. Anyway enough of that.

Sorry had to stop in middle of post, Sam is toilet training and had an accident.

(((((((((((((((((((3Dogs))))))))))))))))))))))) we know it is really tough for you at the moment.

thanks Aesop - hope Sam's accident was only a little one :o

I have been taking it easy today, just doing some washing and catching up on MSE after my enforced absence, as it's the first day I am only visiting Mam once, at 4 pm. The other days I seem to have been dashing from the home, to sisters, the brothers, here, with not much time in-between, and I have found that very tiring. So today, with Mam lots better, my brother went early and then stayed for her lunch, then my sister arrived just as he was leaving, and I am going down soon, when my sister will leave

And I am having a treat tonight as I am going straight to my sister's afterwards for my dinner - their home-made curry which is lovely yum yum yum. I have been eating rubbish for a week now, not making a meal and just snacking most of the time .......... and I daren't tell you how much chocolate and ice cream I have eaten

OK, time for me to get changed and get down to see Mam - back later x x x

Mam was good again tonight - watching tv and chatting quietly but happily. Then I had a lovely curry at my sister's, made by my BiL - hot but yummy - stayed chatting and watching BGT Final . When I got back about 10 pm, I just checked on here then started watching TV - CSI's :D

But I am off to bed soon so night night all x

Hi everyone, glad you are online again.

Hope your mum is feeling better Susan and that you are too. There is a problem as now i don't get updates from this thread so I don't realise people have posted. It has been happening for 3 days including today.

This is my last day of the holidays. I will go and do some marking. Am planning on having a chilled out day!

It is supposed to be raining here but it is all just a big anticlimax we had two spots of drizzle so far!!!!

I have done all of my marking barring one that i cannot bear to touch! (He smokes and i dread what else he has done whilst he has written whatever he has. I think he was stoned!:rotfl::rotfl:).

I am tidying but v slowly.

Well done on the marking Kit - put some latex gloves on, and a surgical mask, to get that last one done :p

I took my sister shopping at Mr T's this morning, pointing her in the right direction for lots of bargains ;), then dropped her off at the home to visit Mam at 11 am, before dropping her shopping off at her house. She text to say Mam was quiet but OK :D I will be going down about 4 pm

I've just been browsing MSE for bargains and coupons/codes since I got back

Update on the cat, who now curls up on my lap when I watch TV in the living room so I can't use my laptop in there anymore :rotfl::rotfl: I tell her off when she flexes her claws in my legs and hisses at me and she stops, coz she knows now that if she doesn't stop, she gets put outside ...... and she likes her comfort now ;)

Mr 3Dogs rang me this morning from the car boot, asking if I wanted the good news or the bad news first. I asked for the good news and he said he was set up and weather OK ............. bad news? .................... van had broken down shortly before he got to car boot ................ not very far away so he'd just had to walk round the corner ........... pumping oil all over the place   He did the car boot as normal and then his mate who does the car boots too, is going to tow him to his place where they can have a look at it to see what the problem is ............... may need a new engine though   though the mate said he'd find one for him

Just like it, WTC gets sorted though we don't know weekly amount yet and then this happens. Amazingly, Mr 3Dogs' attitude is 'nothing we can do about it' which it certainly wouldn't have been a few years ago
