Will additional mtg borrowing affect 0% credit card application?

Options
Im in the process of additional borrowing on my mortgage, for home improvements and am currently shifting a credit card debt between 0% offers, I have approx £10k remaining and am due to switch it again in August

Will the recent additional borrowing on my moergage affect my credit card app in any way? My cc debt has gradually reduced from £20k and everytime I've applied to a different lender, had no probs getting approval

I don't actually know for sure, but I would say each time you try switching your credit card debt to a new provider, approval is less likely, because your credit record will show the previous switches. I would also imagine that the increased mortgage lending will show on your credit record and therefore could have a negative impact on new credit card deal approval.

This is not professional advice ...

  • You'll also need to declare it as part of your outgoings, so they will take it into account in respect of affordability.

The increased borrowing will be noted. As a credit search would have conducted prior to approval. As may affect your application.
