Just wondered if when appyling for a mortgage, can you use bank statements instead of wage slips?

Normally, bank statements are requested as well as payslips, not instead of.I am a mortgage broker. We recently submitted our application and we had to submit both wage slips and bank statements, we had some bother with the payslips as they did not copy well or scan, the mortgage company refused to accept the bank statements as proof of income.0
