ITV Called - but number not recognised

Hi,

My wife took a call at home from a man from ITV about a competition - he'd only speak to me so she gave him my work mobile no. Unfortunately I was in a meeting and the mobile was off. Switched it on to a txt from her and a missed call from 02011860000.

I've tried dialling the number but its not recognised. A quick google doesn't show it up either.

Does anyone know if:
1. The number is a genuine ITV one?
2. Given the comp entry had my house phone on it will they call me back on that or my mobile (and how often will they try) - problem is that we both work (it was just by chance it was her day off)
3. Is there any way of contacting them via another number / email address to get more information?

Should there is not be a 7 or 8 after the 020? Isn't London 0207 or 0208 dependent on inner or outer london? Maybe worth a shot. Just guessing though.

i had 2 calls from newsoftheworld today... first to say i'd won a tablet... 2nd to say i hadnt it was infact an ipod sony dock system lol.... hope its a big itv win!

Sorry missed a 0 out on the phone no. The number is accurate now - came up on the missed call log on my mobile.

According to Saynoto0870 the 0201186 prefix is used by ITV as a replacement for their 0844 nos so it seems a genuine call.

I'll do a 1471 when I get home tonight see if there's a real number on the landline - if not I'll give it a couple of days to see if they phone back.

....just wish I knew which comp it was

Why dont you try calling it back :huh: I did when I missed a call from them a couple of years ago :T
