If you're self employed can you make a PPI claim??

I have read a lot about reclaiming PPI for my other half. He opened his account in Nov 2007 and is still paying back his loan - paying £25 a month PPI (which looks like it includes interest).

My question/query is that he is self employed - The bank knew this and still made a hard sell to him, making him believe it would be of use, as well as being charged interest on top.

I've read around and confused whether it is a benefit to him or not, and because he signed for the loan - Does he have a chance in claiming?

    hello there,

Im pretty sure thats a sure reason you should put a consumer complaint questionnaire in, being self employed the ppi wouldnt pay out and so should never have been sold as part of your loan.:D

Some PPI plans cover the self employed. Some do not.

Check policy details, as dunstonh says some will cover for self employments and others not.
