HTC Wildfire PAYG phone £119.99 until 11pm tonight

Options
T-Mobile have got a 12 hour sale on their website at the moment on all their pay as you go phones - 20% off. Have nabbed a Wildfire for £119.99 plus a £10 top up so £129.99 in total.

Finishes at 11pm. Anyone know if you can use the Wildfire as a modem for your laptop by any chance?

yes you can, via wifi, download relevant software from the market. Would recommend you download Android manager to sync phone wireless with pc.

I should not have spent so much time over at the Body Shop thread - gutted as I was looking at this phone PAYG V contract.

I would personally wait. As a phone that's only slightly better than an Orange San Fransisco, but the OSF has come down on offer a lot in price recently - as low as £65 whereas the Wildfire hasn't moved much, I would either buy the OSF or wait a while longer. There should be better deals for that phone.

Out of intrest, why do you consider the Wildfire better?

Wildfire has a 528mhz processor, OSF is 600mhz.
Wildfire has a 320x480 TFT screen, OSF is 800x480 LCD.
Wildfire is 3.2 screen, OSF is 3.5 screen.
Wildfire is 384 RAM 512 ROM, OSF is 512 RAM 512 ROM
Wildfire weighs 118gr, OSF is only 110gr.

I would think the better phone would have the faster processor, more RAM, and higher resolution screen. That wouldn't be the Wildfire IMO.

I was being courteous. :) There are also people that value the conviniences of the HTC sync mechanism which is pretty good compared to other free third party tools for synchronising contacts etc. But see for yourself:

People's opinions are divided so I have to be fair to the original poster.

But yes, I have an Orange San Francisco, and I see no reason to pay twice as much for a Wildfire. It may be more polished and have a better camera, but the SF having a faster processor and more RAM will ensure better longevity. :)
