"Financial Associates" on credit report

Hi all,

I hope I have posted this in the correct place, apologies if not.

I currently have a loan & mortgage with my ex boyfriend so on my credit report he is listed as my financial associate. Now once the loan and mortgage have been cleared (upon the sale of our house) will this be enough to remove him from my report, or will I have to take further action to have him removed ?

Once the accounts are cleared/closed you usually need to manually remove someone by completing a notice of disassociation (you'll need to do this for whichever of the 3 agencies have you shown as associated).

Thank you, would that be a case of contacting the loan/mortgage provider for that then? Luckily they are one & the same.

No - you need to contact experian, equifax and callcredit directly to file a notice of disassociation, they'll check your file and assuming they can see that there are no credit products in joint names will then remove the financial associate link on your file.
