Dyeing jumper, but it's acrylic

Hi guys,
Please can anyone help me?!
I have a jumper which looks really nice on, apart from the colour!
It's bright red, I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it!!!
I have had a quick look on the Dylon website, and done a quick search here
but I'm unsure whether dyeing this jumper would be successful or not since it's 100% acrylic.
Can anyone let me know if it will work, and if so which dye to use - cold water/washing machine etc.
Thanks!

Having tried dying man made fibres in the past I would say that your chances of getting it to look anything like decent are slim. The fibres wont take the dye very well if at all. Plus red is a difficult colour to overdye.
Good luck if you decide to go for it0 -
I doubt it'd work ..... tried it in the past, just wasted money on dye and salt ... sorry ....GC - March 2024 -0

Hi rachyerbs,
I'm afraid that I agree with the previous posters that it's unlikely to work, but you could have a look at the Dylon website where there is an advice section that might help.

Thanks guys,
perhaps it would be easier to sell it on ebay, and tell myself never to buy a red jumper again!!!
