My disabled mother is required to permanently move into a carehome.Social services have informed her that she will have to sell the house to pay for this. She has a small mortgage remaining on the property. Her partner[my stepfather]has just died and she is very worried at this prospect. Does anybody know a way of avoiding the house being sold?

If your Mum actually needs full time nursing care it's possible the NHS would pay the cost, but you might have to fight for this.Trying to keep it simple...

My colleague's mother had to go into a nursing home with Alzheimers, and the children had to sell her house to fund the costs. Sorry.Touch my food ... Feel my fork!0
