converting weights/measures

apologies if this is a silly question but I'm stuck and hoped a OS could help me...

I am trying to cost up some recipes from a 1960's cook book...

how do I work out how much 1 tsp or 1tbsp is pricewise? for example... I know the bicarb of soda costs 37p for 200g and the recipe needs 1/2 tsp - so is there a conversion factor to convert 1 tsp into grams so I can work out what the cost of this ingredient would be??

TIA Yategirl xx

A teaspoon is roughly 5 grms
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Because teaspoons are a measurement of volume and grams a measurement of weight, there is no standard conversion matrix because different substances weigh different amounts for the same volume.
I know that there are 3 teaspoons to a tablespoon, and that they correspond to 5 and 15ml respectively, so the only thing that I an think of is to empty your tub of bicarb into a measuring jug and see how many ml it occupies, and work it out form there.
