Thresher 40% Off Voucher

Has anyone else noticed that the so-called 40% off voucher at Thresher seems to be a total con?
They offer 33% discount anyway because all wines and champagnes are on a permanent '3 for 2' deal, which the single-bottle price has clearly been inflated to maintain...
The bottom line is that the single bottle price in Thresher is so high that a 40% discount only brings the price down to where it should be in the first place... what a bloody rip-off!
The 40% off deal doesn't include the '3 for 2' deal so really it's only an additional 7% discount. I suggest you look in the supermarkets or in other chains like Bargain Booze (if you're lucky enough to have one near you) and you can still get your wine and champagne cheaper... and you don't have to mess around with vouchers!!!
If they can do it, so can Thresher, and the other shops are giving a real bargain to all customers... NOT JUST THOSE WITH A VOUCHER!

Yes, I thought the same.
I favour the wine deals at Aldi and Lidl when they reduce the well-known labels to special offer every few months. Is that a new blouse? It really suits you.0 -
It depends on wat you are buying.
I bought some bottles of chablis and champagne that are not on the B2G1F offer. They are priced hgher than asda and tesco but with the 40% off they do come out a few quid below each, the eception to the rule is when you qualify fir the 25% for 6 bottles + as some super markets do. Like all tips on hear it may or may not be suitable for you.

:T Well spotted - this is the usual THRESHERS CON TRICK I'm afraid. Just a bit of clever marketing. I tried telling another moneysaver this last time they did it but he wouldn't have it (employee?).
My opinion, for what it's worth, (if you can't pop over to France that is) is use the Tesco vouchers (currently one for £10 off £50 spend until 31st Dec - see the vouchers thread) with many wines already discounted a lot of the time. Sometimes free delivery too. So, some genuine bargains to be had there.
For example 1 month ago got Lindauer Brut sparkling for just over £2.20 delivered instead of £6-£7 normal retail! Try beating that for a bargain!0 -
i aggree , it was just a clever con,0
