electoral roll not on credit report

i'm thinking of extending my A&L loan from £900 to £5000. I've been living in my new home over 1yr and got on the electoral roll a few months back. Before applying for the loan i checked my credit report but it shows i'm not on the electoral roll at my new address. Which i am cause i voted last week!!!

Now i'm scared to ask for the new loan incase i'm turned down....my report shows me as FAIR!!

does anyone know how long electoral roll info takes to update on credit reports??
Or should i go ahead and apply as i am already a customer with A&L/Santander??

I believe VR info on credit reports gets updated October each year.

Don't want to wait till october!!! Anyone else in the same situation???

Its usually updated monthly except Oct-Jan when it doesn't update until Jan. As you are obviously on the electoral roll there must have been a mistake which does happen occasionally.

Which credit agency is it you checked? get in contact with them (with experian you can do it through the online forms, maybe can with equifax as well) and let them know your file is not correct. Also worth checking the other 2 agencies to see if you are correct on them - if you are missing from all then could be an issue with your council (can sometimes happen if an address is new or slightly perculiar). If you are just missing from one then its probably an oversight by the agency. Could take a month or so for them to correct.

Not sure which credit ref agency santander use - someone may know and be able to advise - just in case you are correct with that agency already and then wouldn't need to wait?

just rang my electoral office, they said they update records at the start of every month. she then said if its experian you've checked, they are really slow and can take 3-4mths to update their records!!! No further forward really..anyone know who santander check???

Credit Reference Agencies - Who Really Uses Who? II There is a thread here which suggests santander use experian and equifax which probably isn't very helpful (I'm not sure of the accuracy of the thread by the way).

I'd still suggest chasing experian just in the hope you can speed them up a bit - I think they are supposed to deal with any complaint on issues with your file within 28days.
