Santander Sign Transfer Form, How Long?

Hi,
I am in the process of transferring a house and have just completed form TR1, we have full mortgage offer etc already in place. The solicitor has informed me that we are waiting now on Santander signing the TR1 and sending it back, this has been done today.
Has anyone had any recent experince of this and how long it will take for them to sign this and send it back? My solicitor has said it can take a while, although I am unsure why if they just have to sign form.
Any help welcome.
