How to qualify for ipoints?

In order to qualify for ipoints, do you have to first got to the ipoints site, and then navigate through to your chosen retailer?

Otherwise, if I just go straight to, say, woolworths.co.uk, how do they know I'm an ipoints member? I'm a bit confused, because even when I visit Woolies via the ipoints site, it looks exactly the same and doesn't mention ipoints at all (well, not that I noticed).

At this stage, because there was no mention of ipoints on the Woolies site (when I went via the ipoints site), I'm not even sure whether I qualified for points. How long should it take for them to appear in my ipoints account? ( I know they say 30 days, but roughly how long does it really usually take? )

It was a bit different at SendIt.com. SendIt.com requests your ipoints account details so I can undertand how they are able to credit your ipoints account.

Thanks,
Stonk.

You need to go through the Ipoints site linking to the retailer you want.
It will then track that you have done so and when that retailer puts in it's report of sales to Ipoints you should get them credited.

There won't be anything on the site (Woolworths in your case) to say you are visiting from Ipoints. It is tracked by cookies or an affliate program I guess.

And it could show up very quickly (within a few days) or more likely it will take closer to the 30 days. There's no way of knowing, it's all down to how that retailer and Ipoints do the reporting (weekly or monthly).
