Need a LOT more info from you

Salary, level of debt, level of potential debt (credit card limits), homeowner, on the electoral role, how bad is bad (have you checked you credit files?

Anything other than a perfect credit file you are best to go to your own bank as they can see a larger picture of your finances than the other lenders.

Never give out your account details over the phone without research first...EVER.

So you have £8k outstanding debt and you want to borrow a further £10k, in order to do this you would need to be earning at least £36K (very rough rule of thmb is no more than 50% of salary as debt) but the late credit card payments are not going to look good on your credit file.

To be blunt I suspect the Natwest offer of 14.9% may not be beaten.

Tesco is a prime lender with strict credit scoring so if they said no, then your bank is last place. Did natwest offer you the loan or was it a quotation? If it was a quote then there is still no guarantee you'll be accepted. The few late payments will be hindering you a bit yes but at least with natwest, if you go in branch, you can try to justify them and explain. Good luck i hope it works out for you!
