Can anyone recomend a good easy to use knife sharpener?

Buy a knife sharpening steel from any cookshop - the metal pole with a twisty grain on it - the people at the counter will know what you're talking about.

Steels are the best way, but as a woman, I find the action needed to actually sharpen the knife is not easy (I usually ended up putting the point of the steel in a corner of a unit to hold it still).
Eventually, after my Dad passed away and there was no-one else who was a whizz with the steel, I bought an electric sharpener from Amazon
