Previous work not paid me

Hi
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I couldnt find anywhere suitable.

I left my previous job on 17th November. Wages are paid on 1st of each month so I was due 17 days pay and £67.25 expenses.

It doesnt really surprise me that I've not received this..... I was sort of expecting it. I have received my P45 already so this hints that they have no plans to pay me!

So my question is what do I do now? I have emailed them but got no response. Do I phone or would it be best to put in writting so that I can get signature on delivery? I will of course apply to small claims but want advice on the best steps to take before applying.

Thanks!

I would make a phone call in the first instance and ask for an explanation. If you don't get satisfaction then raise a grievance on grounds of failure to pay wages/expenses.

Did your P45 include the amount you think you should have been paid?

ACAS can usually offer good advice, and you could probably take them to the small claims court fairly painlessly - and perhaps the knowledge that you have taken advice and they are in the wrong may change their mind!

Does your contents insurance have legal cover? If it does they will act for you. It comes under employment - witholding monies.
