Which online food shopping is best??

I use tesco at present, but wondered what people think of sainsburys and asda's online food shopping services. Thinking we may have a change!

I don't use sainsburys and asda's online food shopping services, but I can tell you what others think of them.

Some think they are good and some think they are bad.

Like anything else, it will depend on the store you order from and the people that deal with your order. Some people are very good at their job, some people are not, some people want to do a good job, some couldn't care less.

Get the right people and you'll have a good experience, get the wrong people and at best you'll be back here telling us your tampons were substituted with a twix. At worst you'll be back telling us they never delivered your shopping, but "took" the money from your bank and now you have no money and no shopping.

I think it does depend on which store they come from.
I didn't find Tesco great which I think is because we are served by a fairly small store.
Asda was appalling - my first order arrived over 24 hours late and they didn't seem to have a clue what had happened.
Sainsbury's was ok but I found it expensive.
Now we only use Ocado and they are fantastic! great communication, turn up when expected, extremely rare for there to be a substitution, brilliant discounts. I only order when they send a discount code, this happens about fortnightly and averages about 15%, last week they sent one saying that if I ordered last week I would get a 35% discount this week! it is normally possible to get a free delivery slot in our area too.

I had my first ocado delivery today and was impressed. Am toying with the idea of paying for the annual delivery pass. Do you still get the discount if you have the annual pass.

I tried Tesco first and wasn't impressed. There were very short dates on cold meat and the grapes were what I would call "on the turn." I ordered a Simpsons Easter egg cos it had a free watch with it for my son and this was out of stock ....the substituted item was a box of cereal with a picture of Bart Simpson on it!!!! This put me off for a while and then we got Asda locally and they have been great. Prompt and sometimes ring to ask if I would mind an earlier delivery. I choose late to keep the cost down so I am more than happy. The delivery men explain substitutions and I am now happily ordering veg and some fruit as well as heavy store cupboard items with confidence although there will always be thing I prefer to pick myself in the store. No bargain whoopsies online!! Any issues have been quickly resolved on the phone. Once I bought a pack of 4 buns and 1 was damaged. They replaced the pack and I kept the three undamaged. Also with Asda, if they are out of stock and replace with a dearer item they charge the cheaper price which is a nice bonus!!
In conclusion, not perfect but I would prefer to Tesco. As other posters have pointed out, it will be down to the store and the staff.

I think it depends on your local store really. We currently use Tesco and though not happy with the prices the service for us has always been great and quality good. Tried Asda found the quality of fruit and veg rubbish. Tried Sainsburys who let us down several times, phoning and saying delivery wasn't coming on 3 occasions, well after the delivery slot time had gone by!!
The best so far has been Ocado but we can't afford their prices, had a £15 off your first shop voucher to use. The quality and service are fab but they are around £20 more expensive than Tesco.

Honestly I never use online food shopping. I'd rather go directly to the market and choose the food. I don't know, for some reasons I found this could save the money =)

sainsburys used to give you a £10 "off your next delivery" if they were late. dont know if that still applies. they also have a 1 hour delivery slot, wheras tesco have a 2 hour.
life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.

i found the opposite. online shopping stops me getting distracted by the special offers.

Having used Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda.. they all have their faults but Tesco was the best for us.
