Trade Counters in NI

Evening all,
Here in NI can anyone walk into a trade counter (ie a member of the public?)
I'm looking to buy some new euro cylinder style locks and a company near the RVH stocks the ones I want and I believe at quite a good price.
Do I need to have company headed note paper etc or just walk in and ask for the trade price?
TIA!

Ask them if they sell to the general public?.....you can get some good locks on the internet if you have the time to spend searching.0

Hi,
Yes I called to ask them what their prices were and was quoted a figure that was much higher when asked "are they for yourself?" than a colleague who called up and asked what the trade price was! So it seems that they do sell to the public - but can I walk in and get the trade price?
I know the ones I want and can get them online from several prices, but the trade price of £20 + VAT is much better than even the cheapest place I can find that sells them online.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

Don't know the company you're on about, just ask them............Tell them you want to buy a few samples as you are planning on buying more if they work....0

Some trade counters will sell to the members of the public but if there is a big sign saying "trade only" then expect to be disappointed if you are not trade.
Those "trade counters" which sell to both trade and non-trade usually operate by quoting retail price but give discount to people who they know to be trade. Be up front if you want good service and not to be disppointed.0 -
Another peachy move for the trade customers is that they have an invoice for the "trade" price. However, come the end of the month, they get the real discount as a percentage of their monthly bill.
So the man who comes with an invoice showing what the parts cost is treated with some scepticism. Very frequently used practice in the motor trade, I believe..0
