40th birthday bucket list type journal - need ideas

Hi all,

It's my best friends 40th birthday in November 2011. It's also mine the day after hers and we have booked a fortnight in Disneyworld staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge to celebrate. For a gift I want to give her a journal style book with 40 things listed to do in our 40th year. I would like to put together this journal with a page for each thing to do with space to detail when we did it and a picture to record the moment in some way.

I would like to cover some big things like a visit a certain country, theatre tickets, a sporting event (we are in the UK so Olympics maybe), we could include some things to do whilst at Disney such as a tour, certain restaurants, shows etc through to small, free or charitable things at home such as visit a museum, read a book or watch a film that we have never got round to doing, donate to charity, volunteer somewhere.

I would welcome any thoughts or ideas that you have.

Thank you.

Just off the top of my head - how about going back to somewhere memorable from your childhood? Where you used to go on holiday or something similar?

try a food that you wouldn't normally eat
Do something for a sponsored cause
    grow some flowers/vegetables
    Plant a tree
    Afternoon tea at a hotel
    learn to dive
    Ride a horse
    go caving/potholing
buy a diamond...or piece of jewellery to remind you of your special year
