Well im currently in a position to buy my first house but waiting till house prices fall to an acceptable level, so if these means that im striking then i must be a member as well.0 -
I suppose a whole raft of unis will close down as well. No? Oh, of course, the kids aren't going to choose the most prestigious place, because they'll go local to stay at home with Mum. Course they will.;)
While places might not close down, the intake might change. Is there really much difference between going to Newcastle, Manchester or Leeds? Unless you live somewhere with very limited university provision, like Cumbria, then you have a wide range of universities within an easy commute of the parental home.
While I find it odd that people would choose to stay at home during uni, I also think it's odd that lots of people live with their parents after they leave uni and well into their 20s and they seem to do so.0 -
Eldest has already changed his choices to a local one due to the excessive cost and he is not the only one in his current 6th form, virtually all of them who had been planning on going to Uni miles away are now planning on the local one 10 miles away so they can stay at home and save on some costs.
Eldest doesn't want the debt, hence the rather unsavoury attraction (to him) of living at home whilst going to uni but with the added attraction of still being able to do his part time job with guaranteed full time hours during uni holidays. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
