Black & Redcurrant Jam ?

Hi
I have in my freezer 1 1/2 lb blackcurrant and 1 lb of redcurrants + a few blackberries. Picked from my garden last year.
There doesn't seem enough to do individual blackcurrant jam and redcurrant jelly so contemplating making a combined jam.
Has anyone done anything similar ? Any advice or tips ?
I've searched around to find a recipe and I've not been able to find anything that combines these two fruit.
Thanks
Jen

Just combine them to make a mixed berry jam.
Follow a recipe for black current jam, but add a tablespoon of lemon juice (you can use Jiff type juice, it doesn't need to be fresh lemons!) to compensate for the lower pectin content of the blackberries.
But wouldn't you prefer to use them individually for a cake or pie?0 -
Hi
Thanks but unfortunately my other half hates anything that contains cooked fruit.

you can make jam in any combination of fruit you like - as horsechestnut says though - do compensate for any fruit with a low pectin content. but if its only a few blackberries I would have thought the currants would be enough. a little lemon juice never hurts anything though!0

Yes - I made black and red currant jam last year which was yummyMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
