emule is an illegal P2P sharing system , P2P is not allowed to be discussed on the forum

If you want to hand your bank details over to someone in Russia then go ahead

P2P is perfectly legal, however 99.99% (guess) of the stuff on eMule is copyrighted and discussions about that won't be allowed.

There are zillions of web sites out there which will tell you all about it, and help you get the spyware off your computer when you've finished.

  • I use tools like eMule to download Linux ISO's, OpenOffice.org, ect which is allowed to take place with out any problems.

To get different view point on P2P and the various court case goto

Out of interest, why? All of those can be easily downloaded much faster elsewhere...

  • Trust me in next few months download speeds are going are increase massively. Virgin Media is going to do 50M for £35 a month with unlimited bandwidth in new year. P2P is only why to seriously do this, bandwidth transmission is very expensive.

My distro of Linux comes in at 15G, but I serious pro and support people using Linux.

I wouldn't be surprise if this site was costing thousands pounds a month.
Also note do not be surprise for sites hosted in UK becoming more expensive soon.

PS it is not technically possible to do this with BT phone line DSL (ADSL) any higer then 28M. It technically possible on cable to go as high as 100M but there not going that high for now.
PSS for people who do not know Virgin Media is new name for NTL Telewest in new year.
  • Emule is an awful spyware infested program.

I wouldn't have it anywhere near my system! I too work with linux distros so I'm constantly downloading 700mb-4gb iso's - all 100% legal!

I use a program called uTorrent, which is incredibly fast, a tiny download and doesn't eat system resources.

    So there you go :)

Sorry but your completely wrong. Emule is NOT an illegal program. Some people may put it to illegal use but that does not make it an illegal program. Same applies to torrent clients etc.

As regards the Original Op you should not be paying to use any point to point software. All the major networks are open and free to use.
If you do so, be sure your antivirus and anti trojan / spyware software is up to date.

As already stated for some reason p2p cannot be discussed here but its definately NOT because its use is illegal. Its simply because of the use some individuals put it to.
