Freesat installers.

I want to install Freesatfromsky, but have read some horror stories about some of the people Sky send out, if you book direct with them. ISTM it might be better to use a local agent.

I wonder if anyone has had expereicne of a good installer, especially in the Bournemouth or BH Postcode area. What are members' expereinces with using the men sent out from Sky?

A lot of people here (not me personally, I've never been interested in Sky) recommend a one year sky contract? 1st 3 months half price and free box and installation, then after a year you can cancel and you've spent about the same as a freesat box and had the extra channels for a year. It converts to freesat once you quit.

That offer espired 30/11! Subscription Sky requires a telephone link for 12 mths. A lot of people don't want the hassle of having wires tacked along skirting boards orhaving new points put in.

My brother had sky installed and we pulled the wire our the minute the installer left and the whole thing still worked fine. Just ask the installer not to tac the wire in. I didn't realise the offer had ended, sorry - as I said I;m not into Sky. Just looking at their website though and it is £15*12=£130 minus a £10 credit (edit to say £10 credit is when you apply online) to your account is £120 - still compares well to freesat, I thnk.
