Actually not sure if i can as i only recieved notification of bungalow today so will have to see dwp on monday but i am on incapacity -no i cannot work -have had 3 medicals so far to confirm this, also cant drive due to condition
was going to sell house to pay my way but with daughters situation comeing up had to revise the idea as i will not let her be homeless with a 12 and 2yr old0 -
I would expect your income support to stop as well as not being able to claim Housing Benefit as the bungalow will be capital if you are not living in it. The capital limit for HB is £16 000.

Why will your daughter be homeless, She is in rented accomadation at the moment -if she is evicted then the council have a obligation to house her and her children. She won't BE homeless !
As for housing benefit -forget about your daughter for a moment. You have an asset (your house) that you can either sell or rent out -why on earth would you expect other tax payers to pay your housing benefit on an alternative place to live ?
Your daughter is an adult -one who does't live with you-why would her situation impact your benefits ? You want your daughter to live rent free -and you want others to subedize your alternative housing-Can you not see how unfair and unrealistic this would be. I'm not unsympathetic but I think you're not seeing the big picture. Maybe an option would be to charge your daughter rent that would cover the mortgage (I'm not even sure she can claim housing benefit if the house belongs to a close relative though) or maybe another solution would be if she moved in with you and helped you-so you didn't need sheltered housing ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

I think you will be charging her rent, it just happens to be the same amount as the interest on the mortgage that you have on the property.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
thanks all have made decided to sell house and live off income my daughter has found house to rent
also i know it may of looked like i was trying to have my cake and eat it but as i said i would be contacting dwp to discuss income ect. i have always paid my way as much as possible and Never asked for anything until i could not work and i will continue to do so as for as i can BUT i sometimes wish i could be like some around here who get everything and do absolutely nothing but i would feel guilty if i did as all my family were brought up with the if you havent got the money do without ethos0
