hi all,
Im after some advice please..
My partner applied for a loan with his bank santander who hes been with for 20 odd years...hes been in the same job for 22 years..his loan was turned down..
we realised that he wasnt on the elctoral roll and have sent off details that will be updated in june..
his credit rating showed fair[with experian]and his score was 773.
its dosent show his credit agreement with santander for his bank account or his two credit cards with them even though hes had these cards for at least 5 years..
its showing his linked address as where he lived with parents but as not on the eletoral roll there either.
its showing that no linked financial agreements and no searches etc..because his only credit agreement is with his bank account and his credit cards... will it go against him because it looks like he hasnt had any credit..also how much is the scoring likley to change when he finally shows on the electoral roll.
many thanks.:)

Electoral roll makes a big difference.
A credit scoring system thinks along the lines of "not on VR ... might not really live there".
Time at address also makes a big difference ... so if he's only been there a few months, perhaps getting on VR and getting past a year's residency would help.
As for the credit cards, does he actually use them?0 -

thanks very much..that was really helpful..weve been at the adress for about a year so not that long really... when they will update it in june hopefully it will show then...will his credit score improve with his name on the voters list..not sure how it works..
.he does use the cards but maybe with a small amount of shopping once a week on one card totalling 100 pounds a month and the odd amount on cheap ebay stuff on the other.. he always pays 250 odd back every month on the cards.....cant understand why it dosent show on there..or show his bank account either....so i guess its best to wait a while...
wondering whether he can speak to santander to find out if they can put his details on or to find out why his history with them isnt on there....is he allowed to do this...
and if its worth signing up with the other one equafax to see if its showing on there...do banks use both for credit scoring..
many thanks

It maybe how long ago they were taken out, were they pre 2004?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
