Got both my parents (divorced) to switch to cheaper fixed tariffs in the last few months.
They are in their 70s.
They are intelligent enough, my father is even a bit of an internet savvy.
Both were very suspicious when I suggested a move away from their long term provider.
It took about 4 gos to persuade my father to change.
They were both on the most expensive standard tariff and had been for some time.0 -

Unfortunately this is so typical of many people. It took me ages to get my father to leave his broker for car insurance!I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Been throught the Tesco clubcard conversion thing this week.
Remember we get our next set of clubcard vouchers in November if iam not mistaken. So, knowing that the Eon Clubcard exchange is ending in November called up Eon customer services to ask when in November the offer will be ending. The gentleman said it would be the end.
Couple of days later i get an email which stated, "We've extended the offer until 5 November, giving you more time to exchange your vouchers and get 50% more value."
So i then rang up clubcard, to ask when in November will we get our new clubcard voucher's through the post and the lady said in the second week of november.
Therefore it seems we will not be able use our next set of clubcard vouchers on our Eon fuel bills.0 -
Giant Paystacks - after seeing your message I too have been on the phone! Eon directed me to Tesco who said that the voucher codes will be viewable online on our clubcard accounts before they arrive in the post. She didn't make any guarantees but thought that it was very possible they would be online before the 5th as they are processing them earlier.....We will have to wait and see. Hopefully E.On will pick up on this too as if we can't use the points from this collecting period there doesn't seem to be much reward (apart from to Tesco!)0

Beebles83 _ I do hope we can, but like you said. If we can't use them on this collecting period, then make little sense. And remember it takes about 24 hours from your redeeming tesco tokens, to tesco giving you the code to use on Eon, to be fair to tesco is very efficient.0

Will keep fingers crossed! I checked online earlier and redeemed vouchers on 1st August for the last collecting period so *hopefully* they will be online early this time around too. I think my token codes came through within hours last time so hopefully the Tesco efficiency will be repeated
We can't be the only people who have called to try to make sense of it!

Silly question - but is it safe to assume you can't get the points if you are on a pre-pay meter?Mummy to beautiful 5yr old girl and a gorgeous 1yr old boy:D0
-
Yep, afraid so, pre-pay meters aren't part of it. @Gaint Paystacks - voucher codes now showing on Tesco Clubcard online so can be converted and applied before 5th November AND they have extended it again0

Hi beebles
Spot on, we've extended our Tesco Rewards scheme through the coming winter and beyond.
The downside, though, is the scheme is not being extended for customers on our Saveonline tariffs. However, existing Saveonline customers have until 30 November 2011 to redeem any remaining tokens.
Also, prepayment customers are still not eligible for the scheme.
Hope this is of interest. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.
