Mortgage repossession - help

Hi all,
Received letter today from eversheds re my Santander mort arrears £5k.
They state that Santander have now applied to local court to commence repossession.

Im self employed but and about £1k is due in over the next 4 weeks, I have paid off 300 today & called them up to advise, but they are not really helpful.

I am actively looking for employment and have interviews lined up. If I can just get a job it will help a lot buti am concerned that the court are going to take the house.

I have a wife and 3 kids, the wife doesnt work as she looks after the kids.

The working tax credit pays for the food bill

Any help appreciated as very worried now.

Received the hearing papers today, 1st week of June. Should I be talking to Santander to try some kind of arrangement ?

Please get hold of Shelter on Monday, they are specialists helping people deal with housing problems. What are the chances of your getting anythign together money wise by selling stuff round the house? Can you wife get some part-time work as your finances sound very stretched.

And have you done a full check on www.turn2us.org.uk in case you are not receiving enough support.

Thanks RAS will try them Monday. There's not much work going for the wife, cause of school times etc. I'll post more info Tuesday after the job interview & chat with Shelter.

Make sure you attend the court hearing armed with what you can afford. Depending on the type of mortgage/interest rate the judge may rule in your favour. But do seek advice on this.

I agree. Ask Shelter for help. And do attend court to tell the judge what the position is at that time.
