At my local Lidl, I was amazed to see advertised: New Season Carrots, Swede, Cauliflower. Considering as a gardner, I know they dont mature until Sept/Oct, I asked to see the manager. These British (Tractor marked) veg ...... impossible, they must be stored from last year I said? Who cares? the reply. I do, as you are implying it's this new year season veg! You are misleaDING THE CUSTOMER. Well, we just get the signage from head office. So Pooh on you! What are we to dO????????

as consumers we should be protected when and make informed decisions when making any purchases. Companies will say anything just to get a customer to buy their "carrots" even when they are not yet in season. lol. Some people just dont know where to draw the line hey.

I would expect nothing but quality and truth from a decent food retailer (World Foods, Harrods Food Hall)... at Lidl you can't ask for too much.

However they may not be british grown and therefore be in season somewhere.
