Hi,
I'm looking to buy a 3 in 1 or at least pushchair and car seat in one but there are so many out there I don't know where to start.
Ideally under £300 and would really appreciate anyones thoughts or suggestions.
What should I be careful of?
Cheers all

weight! Make sure the buggy is not too heavy 'cos it'll wear you out if you walk a lot! Make sure it can fit in car when folded ... and that there will be room for shopping etc
Also, read reviews .... I am not to sure of the web sites ... but search for travel system reviews ... sites like mother and baby etc
You'll get a good one for under £300 ..... went buggy shopping last weekend with a friend .... she got the M&P Aria for £200 (buggy & car seat), then she paid extra for the raincover too:rolleyes: I did tell her that it is on offer at Argos and you get a lot of extras with it - but you would have to buy the car seat - not sure if Argos sell it.

It is a very light weight pushchair BUT ... a very improtant BUT ... you need both hands to fold it (not easy if you are out on you own with baby and need to fold it - but this may not happen often)... it does not have single hand folding action. However, once you do click it ready to fold, it does fold very easily and unfolds even easier!
That it just about all I know:o . Not sure how good M&P pushchairs are as have always had Graco (lasted 5 years with VERY heavy use - had it for 7yrs) or MacClaren (very easy to push, robust, but basket is not all that!)
HTHI can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
This is great thank you, so many little things to think about and this is just what I needed :j0

Hiya
I brought the Chicco Trio including carrycot, car seat, stroller, cosy and raincover from https://www.jolly-tots.co.uk for £199.08 inc P&P saving me over £200!!
This will last up to the age of 4 so an ideal money saver and it looks good too.
Hope this helpsxxx

Just to throw iin my thoughts after 15 months of pushing and folding....
We bought a pramette from Mama's and Papa's range this can be used with a car seat for a Travel system. It is good in that the pram can be used to lie the baby flat when very young and then reversed as a push chair when the baby grows BUT...
It was expensive, heavy and worse still the quality was not great, it already feels well used and has been repaired by me once as it broke just outside of the M+P's warrenty.... Pram is only just under 2 years old
Probably would not by M+P again but that's just my opinion (there are plenty of other opinions out there !!!!!)
Best thing to do is go to an independant shop and try a few out.....0 -
Make sure that whatever pushchair you buy it's suitable from birth. Yes I know it sounds obvious but a lot will say they are but what they mean is they are suitable if used with a carrycot or car seat. You shouldn't keep a baby under 6 weeks in a car seat for more than 30 minutes and over 6 weeks no more than 2 hours. For this reason a car seat is not a suitable mode of transport for baby for long periods.
You need to think about what you want to use the pushchair for.
Will you use it off road? Inflatable tyres are best.
Is it mainly around shops? Something fairly compact and manouverable.
Used on buses? Something easy to fold one handed and compact.
Different height users? Adjustable handlebars are a godsend.
Lots of shopping? A large basket you can get to when bubs is asleep.
Car driver? Will it fit in the boot and leave room for essentials.
Just a few to start you off.0 -
we bought the mamas & papas pramette travel system too.i find it very bulky and heavy.i found it good for when they were very young but as soon as our daughter could sit up we changed the pramette into a pushchair.the only down side is that the child faces away from you, which i would have preferred for my daughter to be facing me to begin with as she was still quite young when she wanted to sit up in her pramette and you cant see them very well.
my daughter is 19 months now and i sometimes struggle to get up kerbs with it, i could understand if she was a large child but she is of average weight etc. the only good thing about it at the minute is that she can go to sleep lying down in as it reclines that far back.
if i was to buy another one i would think twice about a mamas and papas travel system.0 -
I have been to M+P to look at the Pilko Pramette and its seems very light and folds away quite small. This is what I am going to buy. I think its £325 for the Pramette and or £425 for Pramette and car seat.0
