People seem to leave their brains at home when it comes to parking.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Were these clampers sia registered? (which they should be) if so its illegal for them to clamp a car with person(s) in the car. Get her to write to the address on the receipt they gave her qouting the ref number and the reg number of your car explaining this.
I love the holier then thou attitude here ,if I was going to hop out to draw some cash out theres no way id pay £2.70 to park in the car parks around here.0 -
Hereward wrote:I assume you are making a generalisation about it taking the clamper 45 seconds to clamp her car, as I don't think any clamper could place a clamp that fast, unless they were stood right next the car when she parked (if they were it begs the question, why didn't they tell her she couldn't park there?). Therefore, the driver must have been away from the car for a few minutes.......
You'd be amazed how quick they clamp! We had a delivery to our office of a couple of boxes a few months ago. The driver parked on a single yellow line outside at a time when loading is allowed and had left a note to say. When he went downstairs he'd been clamped and there was no sign of any warden or clamping truck. As he'd been in our building for less than 2.5 minutes, they must have been watching him and moved in on his van the second he was in the building.
Incidentally, he got his money back when he complained, backed up by our witness statements.0 -
I can't stand people who park where they shouldn't. Driving in London is bad enough but just one mindless idiot parking on a double yellow can honestly add 30 minutes to a journey! They shouldn't be clamped though.
They are the ones who should have petrol thrown at them. And whoever they have blocked off or delayed should each get a box of matches to chase them with.
