Options
i still cant believe that shoe shops on the whole still only go up to size 11, and people are getting taller i find it really fustrating to find my size im a size 12/13 only shop i could find so with some sort of choice is brantano i like this kind of shop as you can see what they have instock without having asking shop assistant to check each shoe that you might like, i want something a bit modern and lightweight
has one got any ideas please online or shop/warehouse im in west london willing to travel outside london

    Hi Pana

Please don't be insulted by this...I have heard that there is quite a good range of feminine footwear available for Xdressing males...oh please don't shout as me I want to help.. If you do a bit of creative googling then you should find something on the internet. They will do all sorts of dressy sandals, smart shoes, boots etc etc. I worked with a transgendered person, and she always had lovely shoes on, though I never dared ask where she got them.

It's a sad reflection on the shoe industry that I have to suggest this. I hope I haven't offended you.

    What about Clarks?

The majority of their mens shoes are made up to a size 12 and a small selection up to a 13.

You will have to ask an assistant to check for your size though - but everyone has to do this in a shoe shop unless its a self select like Brantanos. The assistant wont mind - it's their job :D

You could narrow it down by asking them to show you what styles are made in a 12 or 13.

You can see a selection of their shoes at www.clarks.co.uk

Sometimes a bit pricey but they will last a bit longer. :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • Hi Pana,
This is my first post and i am happy to be able to contribute after benefiting so much from this site. I'm a size 13 wide fitting and don't bother much with shops any more. I've found lots available on the internet. Here's three sites for you to consider for comparison.

    http://www.osbornesbigman.co.uk/acatalog/Osbornes_Mail_Order_Shoes_23.html

    http://www.magnusshoes.com/

    http://www.walktall.couk.com/

the first i have purchased from directly in the past and though they have a limited range, they had what i was looking for and delived promptly. the other two have full colour brochures that can be sent to you by post. I know that it is preferable to see and touch the shoes, but if you have standard width feet then i feel going down this route will be a way of increasing the styles available to you.
Good hunting and thank you for providing me with the means to contribute to this fantastic site.
    something missing
  • Barratts (https://www.barratts.co.uk) do a range of shoes from 13-14 in mens shoes and 9-10 in ladies, webiste for this range is https://www.tall-small.com I belive you can order them online but they charge you delivery, the larger stores stock them or smaller stores can get them ordred in for you, just take them the code (old housemate of mine was a size 14!)
